Awards evening 2019 (33 images)
What an amazing evening to mark yet another successful awards. Wild wild west being the theme of the evening, all Ultra parents and athletes showing off their wears gunning for that best dressed award. Well done to all athletes achieving their milestones and a special thank you to all individuals for making the event a success.

A triumphant return from nationals for Ultra's athletes. 3 days of gruesome competition with many challenges including a blackout on day 2 did not deter them from achieving many personal bests and ending their season on a high. Achieving personal bests is one thing but medalling just puts the cherry on top creating memories for years to come. Well done Team Ultra as you have achieved greatness and can rest assured that more special moments are to come.

The last provincial competition before nationals brought about 3 new pbs in the 400m for 3 different athletes. Firstly Well done to Jamie dipping under 53 seconds. Secondly well done to Maliek for dropping his pb by a half a second and thirdly well done to Keanan who clocked a 49.98 second 400m dipping under the 50 second barrier. The competition however belongs to Tashriq and Ameerah who qualified for the senior national championships that will take place in Germiston later this month. We wish them well in their quest for national glory.

As per normal Team Ultra never dissapoints at any competition. A gruesome 3 day competition comprising of 17 provinces ensured that only the best stood out. Leading the pack was without a doubt Ameerah taking on athletes in both the triple and long jump competion and backed by the crowd by being the smallest amongst the competitors. Being at least a head shorter than everyone showed that dynamite comes in small packages. Qualifying in both displines and finally ending up 7th in the triple jump final and 11th in the long jump final. She was followed by her team mates Tashriq in the long jump, Keanan and Maliek in the 400m. Ending with a seasons best is always a great way to build towards a new season. We now focuss our attention to the national senior championships at Germiston late in April.
